Whitening

Darkening and staining of teeth are caused by everything from aging to the foods we eat. Proven safe, effective and long-lasting, this one-time treatment takes about 60 minutes.

Teeth are whitened by addressing the internal dentin layer of the tooth, not the outer enamel layer. An activation gel we use contains carbamide peroxide, a molecule that can penetrate through enamel. This gel, when combined with a special light source to activate it, lightens the dentin resulting in a dramatic whitening of teeth.

As with any whitening system, the post-treatment results can vary according to the degree of staining and the condition of the teeth. A consultation will help determine the kind of results you might expect from treatment. Note that any issues with tooth decay or gum disease must be controlled before the treatment can be performed.
